( The face he is making is so full of "please, no." So full of that emotion. But he isn't going to say that, because he's pretty sure that's rude. This face is probably rude, too, technically speaking but he's just. No. Four arms. Max with four arms. That's a scary place. )

You c-could massage yourself, then. I g-guess.

( Thoughtful. And, with a little frown: ) Is this uh, a s-subtle w-way to say you d-don't need me?

( Playful, a bit awkward because everything he does is a bit awkward, but he's trying to tease. Keep things light. Not think about where massaging derailed to last time. )

[There are jokes she won't make, even if it's being playful, and things like that are one of them. She knows Adonis well enough to know that he'd take it poorly, that the subject is far too raw.

There's no flicker in her expression, no pause before her reply, but she really wishes he hadn't made a joke like that.]

You give better massages than I do.

[It's sort of true, at least, if only because Donny can use warmth and ice so easily.]

( Speaking of, this is an awesome foot rub she's getting, his thumbs pressing into the sole of her foot harder, then softer again. )

[Quiet agreement, because she really doesn't want to press this joke too much, not when there are landmines underneath it.]

[Just casually wiggling her toes a little (the way normal people can, don't worry she isn't doing anything weird with shapeshifting) as if to indicate that is indeed a very good foot rub.]

( The kitten is purring very loudly, drawing a bit more of a grin from Donny as he watches her twist around to try and lean into Max's touch some more. At the toe wiggle, he gently grabs one of Max's toes, squeezes it before letting go again.)

You've g-got a new fan.

( And the he's just lapsing into silence, again. Comfortable silence, where the only concern is awesome foot and calf massage. He's good at that.)

For all that she's still a little unsure about having a cat in the apartment, she can at least admit that the creature is cute, and this is... nice, comfortable. They can make room for the kitten in their life here, she's sure.]
